What are the Senior Games?
The Good Life Games of Pinellas County and approximately 20 other Regional Florida Senior Games create a series of year-round competitive events, for athletes age 50 and over, culminating at the yearly Florida Senior Games State Championships.
Beginning in January of each year, approximately 21 local senior games competitions around Florida begin the qualifying process for the state championships. Local senior games events run from January through March and September through November.
To compete in the 2008 Florida Senior Games State Championship, senior athletes must qualify at one of Florida's local senior games competitions during 2008.
The 2008 Florida Senior Games State Championships will be a qualifier for the 2009 National Senior Games in San Francisco, CA.
Each of the local senior games competitions are sanctioned by the Florida Sports Foundation (FSF), the official sports promotion and development organization of the State of Florida. The Foundation and Florida Senior Games State Championships, are a member of the National Senior Games Association.
